Meditation

Meditation  –  the ultimate practice of mindfulness.

Mindfulness Meditation groups are run by Michael Cohn whose meditation training goes back to 1973 when he was first initiated into Transcendental Meditation.

In the early 2000’s he went through formal training in Mindfulness Meditation and he has been involved in Mindfulness since then, teaching Mindfulness and running Mindfulness Meditation groups in several private psychiatric facilities, as well as running Mindfulness groups on a weekly basis.

As part of his journey, Michael was one of the first ACT therapists trained in Australia, and Michael has led ACT training courses, ACT groups and ACT supervision groups since 2007. He has also presented at several conferences including ‘Acceptance from a Buddhist Perspective’ at an International ACT conference in New Zealand.

Mindfulness has become a buzzword thrown about by so many people but learning to become mindful is something else entirely. The theory is dead simple, and the scientific backing is unquestioned, but the ability to lead people into a mindful approach to living is deceptively complex. It is much, much more than giving people theory and handouts. Just Google Mindfulness Meditation and several million pages come up.
